My name is Edward Bounds and I have been blessed with many successes and failures throughout my career as an entrepreneur. I know what you are thinking, did he say “blessed with failures"?
As a man of faith, I am of the belief that failures are a learning experience and can be seen as a blessing at times. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and if we have faith, and an open mind, you can learn from those failures. Many times God is helping us, by "slamming the door shut" on that path you were taking, so that you will have to go another direction.
If you ask successful entrepreneurs around the world, I am confident they will tell you they have failed on many occasions. In fact, many have suffered bankruptcies in their financial, personal and spiritual lives, some more than once, at some point during their careers. You see, "what does not kill us will only make us stronger". Unfortunately, this is where so many people give up on their dreams of owning their own business, and run back to where they think it is safe working for someone else.
The road less taken (business ownership) can be scary and definitely will be challenging. However, if you stay the course, find a good mentor for sound advice and training, it is well worth the effort. One thing to remember is in your entrepreneurial journey, it is a marathon not a sprint, and success does not come quick, nor easy. If it were easy, everyone would be successful business owners, and there would be NO employees in this world.
Successful entrepreneurs usually have an adventurous spirit. I have always enjoyed the independence of working for myself and the thrill of a new challenge. If you possess that adventurous spirit, find the right mentor for guidance, you are well on your way. My mentor was my father, and he was the best. If you find the right mentor, the right opportunity, and you are coachable, you can be a successful entrepreneur. The final and most important things is to have the courage to take action, and “believe in yourself” that you will succeed. Mindset is EVERYTHING, if you believe you will fail, you will. If can vision yourself as a successful business owner, that is a great advantage. This takes time and effort to develop this vision within.
My passion, drive and integrity came from watching my father, Clyde Bounds. You see, he was also a God fearing, hard working man that loved helping other people as well. He always had a full-time job, and was moonlighting to develop businesses on the side. He died in 2006, as a successful cattle rancher and businessman, I miss you Dad! Thanks for the memories......
My determination to succeed and passion for helping people began at a very early age growing up in the Texas summer sun. In fact, I began working to earn money when I was 10 years old. I started helping my neighbor take out her garbage, and keep her yard clean each week. A few years later, I started my first business at 13, by securing agreements to maintain several yards, then came a contract with the entire subdivision. Then a banker friend of my Dad's, who lived in the subdivision and admired my workd asked me to come see him. Now I had a signed a contract to keep the bank grounds clean, but the bank was 20 miles from my home and I did not yet have a drivers license. So, I hired several employees, one of whom had a drivers license to get me to the job site. Fast forward 40+ years, and through faith, hard work, and determination I have built 5 successful businesses.
While always evaluating new business opportunities, I use my talents and experiences, to help others duplicate my successes. With the turn of the new millennium, came a new opportunity, "The Internet". So, I set out to learn how to utilize the power of the Internet, to become an online entrepreneur. I applied the same level of effort and enthusiasm that I had in all of my previous business ventures, and became a very successful online businessman.
In 2006, I took my business experience and passion for helping other people, and started a company called The Superior Home Business Consultants. Since then, I have been mentoring and coaching people how to duplicate my successes, as home based entrepreneurs. If you have what it takes, call me anytime. I am always willing to help those who possess the power to succeed.
In my opinion you must possess these 6 keys, to become a successful entrepreneur.
6 Keys for Success in Business!
1) Passion
2) Integrity
3) Desire to help others, more than yourself
4) Determination to be the best
5) Willing to learn from others who have already become successful
6) Great work ethic
7) Ability to make quick decisions and take action
While I have had my share of failures, it is the successes that keep me excited and driven to help
others feel that amazing feeling of being a successful business owner! If you
think you have what it takes to become successful, and you want to learn from
someone who enjoys helping others, give me a call anytime!
